Mechanical environmental testing

Electric and electronic equipment must be able to withstand the mechanical stress it will be exposed to during intended use. This can for example be extreme temperatures or strong vibrations. Applica Test & Certification has equipment and competence to test products according to current requirements/standards to verify that they are able to withstand the specified climate and mechnical stress.

Vibration and shock

Applica Test & Certification has two lagre vibrators; one with a capacity up to 1 ton. The capacity is even higher if the product can fit on a special made fixture.
We perform accredited vibration and shock testing according to the following standards:
  • DNV-CG-0339 Environmental test specification for electrical, electronic and programmable equipment and systems
  • IACS E10 International Association of Classification Societies
  • IEC 60945 Maritime navigation and radiocommunication equipment and systems
  • MIL-STD 810 H Environmental engineering considerations and laboratory tests (Including earlier versions)
  • IEC 60068-2-75 Hammer test
  • IEC 60068-2-31 Drop and topple, primarily for equipment-type specimens
  • IEC 60068-2-6  Vibration
  • IEC 60068-2-27 Shock

Temperature and Humidity

We provide accredited climate testing according to relevant parts of:

  • DNV-CG-0339 Electrical/electronical equipment
  • IACS E10 International Association of Classification Societies
  • EN 60945 Maritime navigation and radiocommunication equipment and systems
  • MIL-STD 810H Environmental engineering considerations and laboratory tests
  • EN 60068-2-x (Damp, Heat, Cold and Dry heat) Electrical/electronic and mechanical equipment
  • EN 54-2 and EN 54-4 Standard for Fire detection and fire alarm systems

IP and saltmist

IP and saltmist testing is performed according to

  • EN 60529 Electrical/electronic equipment, Degrees of protection provided by enclosures (IP Code)
  • IEC 60068-2-11 Electrical/electronic equipment, Salt mist
